      Toyota Kirloskar Motor shows 62 per cent growth during March 2015

      Toyota Kirloskar Motor has successfully registered a growth of 62 per cent during the month of March. The company had sold 13333 units in March 2015 in the Indian automobile industry as compared to only 8206 units in March 2014. Riding high on these numbers, the company was able to register a growth of approximately 10 per cent in the last fiscal as compared to during the financial year 2013-14.

      Toyota Kirloskar Motor has reflected a similar rise in total sales numbers with 14623 units, which include the export number as well in March 2015. The number of units sold in March 2014 was 9018. It exported a total number of 1290 Etios units in this month.

      N. Raja, the Director and Senior Vice-President, Sales and Marketing said, "Riding on the new launches we continue to register a double digit growth this month as well. With the launch of the New Corolla Altis, Etios, Etios Liva and Etios Cross in 2014 and New Innova and Fortuner in 2015, we saw an increased acceptance from customers which continue to grow month after month. The Corolla Altis, Innova and Fortuner continue to maintain leadership position in their respective segments. The iconic brand Innova completed a successful journey of ten years last month.

      Toyota is committed to safety and we are proud of the fact that TKM is the first manufacturer in India to standardise front dual SRS Airbags across all models and in all grades in mass automobile segments. The additional safety and comfort features across our new models have been well received across markets and we attribute this to our valued customers for their continued support and trust in brand Toyota."

      Toyota’s growth trajectory has been growing since November last year and registered double digit growth in November 2014. The number of units sold in November was 12175 with a total growth of 19 per cent. This was in stark contrast with the number of units in November 2013 that was 10208. In December 2014, the company sold 11740 units in the domestic market as against the 10648 during the same period last year.

      The first month of the year of 2015 showed a growth of 16 per cent for the company with sales figures of 12650 units. In January 2014, the number of units sold by the company was 10910. The trend was similar in February as well, when the company sold 11802 units in the domestic market, while the number in February 2014 was 10100, thus making a growth of 17 per cent.
