      Toyota Etios Vs Maruti Suzuki Ciaz - Budget sedan or Premium offering?

      Maruti Suzuki is arguably the best hatchback manufacturer in the Indian car market and produces some of the most popular models in the segment. However, in recent times the firm has paid a lot of attention to the sedan segment and recently launched the Ciaz to compete with the likes of Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Toyota Etios. While City and Verna are quite ahead of other models, Ciaz and Etios are worthy competitors of each other. Let’s take a look at how these models fare against each other.

      Toyota Etios has an attractive front chrome grille that is flanked by well-designed headlights. The electrically adjustable ORVMs add further to the look of Toyota Etios. Interiors of this car come with excellent cabin space, premium seat fabric, wooden finished armrests and several advanced features. Steering mounted audio controls, in-built infotainment system, cooled glove box and large LCD display form the USP of its interiors. This car comes in both petrol and diesel versions, which are powered by 1.5-litre and 1.4-litre engines, respectively, and develop 88 BHP and 67 BHP. These models deliver mileage levels of 16.78 kmpl and 23.59 kmpl, respectively.

      Maruti Suzuki has made a dedicated effort to put a lot of style in the Ciaz model and it has managed to do really well in that aspect. Highlights of the exteriors of Maruti Suzuki Ciaz include projector headlamps, rear combination lamps, stylish alloys, elegant chrome grille and aerodynamic shape. Interiors of this car are well-designed and come with features like smartplay infotainment system, front centre armrest, reverse parking display, camera assisted reverse parking, keyless push start system and steering mounted audio controls. This sedan is powered by 1.4-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engines capable of producing outputs of 67 BHP and 65 BHP, respectively. The petrol and diesel version of Maruti Suzuki Ciaz render mileages of 20.73 kmpl and 26.21 kmpl, respectively.
