Toyota Kirloskar Motors, the Indian unit of Japan based leading car maker Toyota Motors, is all set to mark its debut in the motor sport segment very soon. The company will be showcasing the racing version of its Etios sedan in Chandigarh on January 28, 2012. It is to be mentioned here that the company had showcased the Etios and Liva racing concept models at the recently held Delhi Auto Expo, where both of these cars received an overwhelming response from the motor sports enthusiasts in the country.
The company has already started receiving the registrations for the Etios Motor Racing (EMR), in which drivers from the age group of 15 to 24 years and having basic experience of go-carting, can participate. The last date for the online application for the event is 15th February. After the initial selections, the selected candidates will go through a go-kart selection round and simulator evaluations.
Etios Motor Racing (EMR) is a single brand racing championship, and the petrol version of Etios models will be used in the first racing season, which is scheduled to be held in the second half of next year.
