The Indian unit of the Germany based leading luxury car maker Audi is all set to mark its debut in the high end armored car segment with the launch of its A8 L Security model in the country. As per the industry sources, the starting price tag of the A8 L Security would be around Rs 5 crore and the company will be delivering the first models of this segment by the second half of this year.
The power packed A8 L Security is blessed with a range of high-tech security systems and can withstand the attacks from AK47 and even hand grenades. The car was showcased at the Delhi auto expo recently, where it is believed to have received about 20 active enquires from the government and corporate top brass.
The Audi A8 L has been designed to withstand any threat to the security of the passengers, and it is a niche product for the likes of top government and corporate officials. The Germany based security division of Audi directly handles any possible deal of the car.
The car will be imported to the Indian auto market through CBU (Completely Built Unit) route, following its manufacturing at a high security facility dedicated for the manufacturing of the high end vehicles like Audi A8 L.
