The hints had already surfaced previously but now the news is confirmed. Mercedes-Benz G500 4×4² will make its entry into the standard line-up of G-Wagens. The off-roader was visible several times in the earlier months of this year doing the test rounds. The experience of driving this model is exquisite and the model is virtually unstoppable, be it any kind of terrain.

The model is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine, which can churn out a power of 416 horsepower. The Austrian-built Wagen has been provided with 325/55 tyres on 22-inch wheels, which give it a clearance of 17.7 inches flat. The model has the capacity to wade through 39.4-inches of water. In spite of being a heavyweight vehicle and less aerodynamic attributes, the model can jump to 60 miles per hour from rest in a respectable 7.4 seconds.

The G500 4×4² has been priced at 226100 Euro in the German market that includes a value-added tax of 19 per cent. This makes it slightly over twice the price of a standard G500 but is placed lower than the most powerful Wagen, G65 AMG, which delivers 621 hp. The company has not yet ruled out an American launch of this model despite the three-axled G63 AMG 6x6, which is ideally the precursor never being offered.
