Audi India rolled out the S4 sedan in the country on June 4, 2012 after it received a tremendous response from the masses for its ‘Vote for the S4 and bring it to India’ campaign. After the company saw unwavering support for the car on social media sites, with 6,00,000 fans on Facebook alone, it decided to launch the sporty version of the A4 at Rs. 45.31 lacs (Ex-showroom Mumbai). With this new model, the company has added a sporty side to its domestic line-up of sedans. The new car will be a crucial part of the company’s plans to achieve its sales target of 8,000 units in 2012. It will be available at all 19 official Audi showrooms across the country.

The all new Audi S4 in India derives its sporty performance from a V6 3.0 TFSI engine that is capable of delivering 333 hp of power and 440 Nm of torque. This motor allows the car to move from standstill to 100 kmph in just 5 seconds and helps it attain electronically restricted top speed of 250 kmph. For smooth gear shifts, the company has equipped the new S4 with a 7 speed S tronic transmission system. Though best known for its performance, the car does well in terms of mileage as well, with fuel efficiency of 10.34 kmpl (according to Automotive Research Association of India). Its sport suspension successfully lowers the vehicle body by 20 mm, while its efficient braking mechanism ensures that it comes to a halt smoothly.

Combining excellent performance with appealing looks, Audi S4 is perfect for daily travelling in a powerful package. It features hexagonal single-frame grille, wedge-shaped xenon headlights placed in LED daytime running lights and LED rear lights. Platinum Gray coloured radiator grille inserts, body-coloured side sills, well-designed horizontal chrome crossbars, exterior mirror casing in aluminium-like finish and V6 T logo on the sides are some of its chief design cues.

About the latest entrant in the Indian portfolio of the company, Head, Audi India, Michael Perschke commented, “We have been receiving requests for the new Audi S4 from car enthusiasts all over the country ever since it was first seen at the Audi Driving Experience where Indian motorsport ace and Audi S4 owner, Karun Chandhok drove it on the tracks of the Buddh International Circuit. We decided to utilize the power of our huge fan base to gauge customer sentiments for this. We started the ‘Vote for S4’ campaign on various social media platforms and the outcome was overwhelming as thousands of fans participated on a daily basis and unanimously voted to bring the S4 to India.”
