Peshawar, a city of Pakistan, witnessed a terrible mishap on September 3, 2012 when a car, loaded with explosives, smashed into a government vehicle of United States. The impact of the accident was so severe that it claimed the life of two natives and left 19 other wounded. On this happening, an official of US Embassy said that two Pakistanis as well as Americans, a part of U.S. Consulate staff, were also harmed in the fender bender.

The city chosen by terrorists is based in north western part of the Pakistan and is close to country's semiautonomous tribal region, which is believed to be a main place of Taliban and al-Qaida militants. In recent past, Peshawar was hit by a number of bombings but an attack on the American government was hardly seen as they use copious safety measures.

The accident took place when the vehicle of US government left its Consulate and was passing through a region, which has offices of several overseas organisations, including of the United Nations.

According to a local TV footage, a completely destroyed and burned Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) was spotted at the accident site. A Pakistani police official, Pervez Khan, said that the car seen in the footage was the U.S. Vehicle, which was attacked by terrorists. After the mishap, the vehicle was just left over with a carcass of completely black twisted metal.

As reported by the explosives expert, Abdul Haq, to turn the accident into reality, terrorists used 110 kilograms of explosives. Being an eyewitness, a local resident, Irfan Khan said that he was at a nearby shop when the mishap happened and further continued, “I quickly looked back in panic to see smoke and dust erupt from the scene. I ran toward the scene along with others and saw two vehicles destroyed and the larger vehicle on fire.”

He further said that one individual was lying dead near the targeted SUV and an American was wounded. “We put the injured man and the dead body in a private vehicle. There were more injured in the surrounding area too” said Khan.

Along with Khan, another eyewitness, Wajid Ali, commented that he assisted in putting other injured American into the vehicle. Continuing the statement, Javed Khan, a police officer said that another vehicle, probably from the U.S. Consulate, arrived at the place of accident and carried all the injured Americans.
