Team Mahindra Adventure performed remarkably at the five-day Dakshin Dare 2012 Rally and won top titles. The team members conquered top positions in the three categories, namely Extreme, Endure and Corporate. The 4th edition of one of the toughest rallies concluded in the city of Bangalore recently.
The centre stage was taken by the spectacular grit of the MahindraXUV 500 and the determination displayed by Team Mahindra Adventure’s drivers. The top two spots in the Ultimate (Extreme) category were taken by National champion Gaurav Gill (co-driver Musa Sheriff) and LohittUrs (co-driver Chipong Chiwan). This victory was more special as MahindraXUV 500 became the first diesel SUV to top the Extreme category in Indian rallying; thus, creating history. In the Extreme category, other Team Mahindra Adventure members, Suhem Kabeer and Jeeva Rathinam finished fifth.
Other drivers who contributed towards the memorable victory of Mahindra at the Dakshin Dare 2012 Rally were Sanjay Takale (co-driver Musthafa) and Karthick Maurthi (co-driver Sankar Anand). They respectively zoomed to the top two spots in their Mahindra Scorpios in the Endurance category. Furthermore, sitting behind the wheel of Mahindra Thar, K.S. Venkatesh (co-driver Chandra Sekaran) was the first to cross the finish line, in the Corporate category.
