According to the company, Tata Nano fire incidents, delay in deliveries and unavailability of parts due to shifting of vendors from Pantnagar to Sanand may be some of the reasons for falling sales. Moreover, Tata Nano bookings are not open in all states of India. Currently, Tata Motors is taking bookings from 5 states of India including West Bengal, Maharashtra, UP, Kerala and Karnataka. Apart from this, company also states that many customers from the first phase of bookings have postponed their deliveries to more auspicious days of the festive season.

Tata Motors’ Sanand plant will be operative in March next year and will become fully operational and bookings will open pan India. It will be possible to gauge the success of the models thereafter.
