The total sales of Tata Motors, including exports, stood at 65,582 units in December 2012. Domestic sales of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles were 61,700 units during the month. In the entire fiscal, the cumulative sales, including exports, of the auto maker stood at 613,750 units.
In Commercial Vehicle (CV) segment, the auto maker delivered 47,515 units in domestic market during December 2012. During the month, the sales figures of Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) and M&HCV were 37,649 units and 9,866 units, respectively. The cumulative sales of CV in domestic market for the entire financial year stood at 390,370 units, comprising 281,192 units of LCV and 109,178 units of M&HCV.
Considering passenger vehicles sales for the month, the figures were 14,185 units against 28,916 units delivered in December last year. The main credit is given to recently launched Manza Club Class and Safari Storme SUV, which are growing well in their respective markets. In order to overcome the increasing demand, the Safari Storme SUV is released in only NCR region, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Goa. The demand for Nano, Indica and Indigo models stood at 11,257 units, while models like Sumo, Safari, Aria and Venture were able to find 2,928 new buyers.
The total sales in passenger vehicle range of the company were 183,977 units, including 146,828 units of Nano, Indica and Indigo models, and 37,149 units of Sumo, Safari, Aria and Venture models. Highlighting exports, the figures stood at 3882 units in December 2012, while the cumulative sales from exports during the entire fiscal were recorded at 39,403 units.
