      Tata Motors Group global wholesale figures climb up by 6 per cent

      Tata Motors, the country's largest automobile manufacturer, announced its global sales figures including retail numbers of its completely owned subsidiary Jaguar Land Rover in Mumbai on November 15, 2012. The company witnessed a 6 per cent surge in vehicle sales that stood at 100,660 units during October 2012 as compared to number of vehicles sold in the corresponding month of last year. Tata Motors' unified global wholesale numbers for the ongoing fiscal stood at 679,051 units, a sharp 7 per cent increase as against the sales recorded in the same period last 2011-12 fiscal.

      The company Commercial Vehicle (CV) sales across the globe comprised units from Tata Motors, Tata Daewoo and Tata Hispano Carrocera range, which grew by 19 per cent and stood at 51,396 units during October 2012 as compared to last year. The cumulative sales figures for the ongoing fiscal stood at 334,941 numbers, a 4 per cent climb up as against those witnessed in the same period last year.

      Coming to the company's global unified sales comprising passenger vehicles, the numbers stand at 49,264 units during October 2012, a 5 per cent drop as against sales recorded during the same month of 2011. Further, cumulative wholesale numbers for the ongoing fiscal witnessed a 10 per cent increase and stood at 344,110 units.

      Reportedly, the worldwide wholesale figures of passenger vehicles under Tata brand plunged by 17 per cent at 21,367 units during October 2012, as compared to the ones registered in corresponding month of 2011. The cumulative wholesale numbers for Tata passenger vehicles remained flat at 155,319 units for the ongoing fiscal.

      Tata Motors' wholly owned subsidiary Jaguar land Rover witnessed an increase as well in its worldwide sales at 27,897 units during October 2012, a remarkable 7 per cent climb up as compared to the vehicles sold in corresponding month of 2011. Jaguar and Land Rover wholesale numbers stood at 3,339 units and 24,558 units, respectively during October 2012. Accordingly, the cumulative sales during October 2012 of Jaguar and Land Rover have been reported at 24,945 units and 163,846 units, in the order of mention. Further, the cumulative wholesale figures for Jaguar Land Rover soared by 21 per cent at 188,791 units, for the ongoing financial year.
