      Tata Motor group announces 21 per cent surge in global sales for July 2012 at 101,605 units

      Tata Motor, South Asia’s largest auto maker, announced a 21 per cent surge over last year in their global sales with figures standing at 101,605 units in July this year, including the volumes of its subsidiary Jaguar Land Rover (JLR). Reportedly, the composite wholesales figures of the auto maker were reported at 377,747 units, witnessing a 10 per cent growth against the figures of same period last year.

      The combined global Commercial Vehicle (CV) sales of Tata Motors, Tata Daewoo and Tata Hispano Carrocera stood at 47,776 units in July this year, picking up a mere 1 per cent growth over the sales recorded in corresponding period last year. However, the composite wholesale figures of the auto major remained unaffected at 178,292 units for the current fiscal.

      Cumulative global sales of all passenger vehicles of Tata Motor stood at 53,829 units in July this year, which marked a growth of 45 per cent. The comprehensive wholesales of the auto major for the fiscal were also increased by 20 per cent with 199,455 units.

      During the period, the global wholesales of Tata Motor in passenger vehicle fleet saw an increase of 50 per cent over last year with sales amounting to 26,908 units. Reportedly, the composite wholesale figures too witnessed a 5 per cent increase at 89,082 units.

      Considering the standalone global sales of Tata owned JLR, the figures stood at 26,921 units in July 2012, which marked a surge of 41 per cent against the volume recorded in same period last year. JLR's composite wholesales figures witnessed a 36 per cent increase at 110,373 units. Company’s cumulative sales during July 2012 amounted to 4,064 vehicles, whereas its wholesales stood to 15,838 units, picking up a growth of 1 per cent under the review of year-ago period. In July 2012, the wholesales of Land Rover were reported at 22,857 units, while its composite wholesales stood at 94,535 units, witnessing a 44 per cent jump on year-on-year basis.

      Tata
