Tata's Zest has been a huge since and has reportedly received about 10,000 bookings in just about 20 days since launch. Tata Motors has been banking heavily on the Zest sedan and upcoming Bolt hatchback to help the brand retain its strong footing in the Indian automobile market. The cars based on the new design language philosophy, known as ‘DESIGNEXT’ is expected to go down well with the Indian audience.
Earlier it was believed that Tata Motors may launch the Bolt hatchback sometime later this year, but fresh reports from sources indicate that Tata may launch the Bolt hatchback sometime later. It is said that Tata Motors does not want interested buyers from diverting their attention from the Zest sedan and they would not mind delaying the Bolt hatchback's launch for a while. Neither does Tata Motor want Zest to overshadow Bolt hatchback post its launch. Tata Bolt shall be powered by 1.2 Litre MPFI Turbocharged petrol Revotron engine that generates about 83 bhp of power at 5000 rpm with 140 Nm of torque at 1750 - 3500 rpm. It is also likely that the vehicle may provide with three switchable driving modes namely - City, Eco and Sports. It is also said that Tata Motors may combine the F-tronic automated manual transmission in the Bolt hatchback.
Tata Motors may also induce new signature style grille built in tandem with ‘Humanity Line’. The new signature grill is expected to compliment the redesigned headlamps. As for the interiors, the Bolt hatchback may get silver trim inserts and restyled instrument cluster with integrated multi-information display. The upholstery may get black and optional colour combination shade. The Ac vents have also been reworked to deliver better cooling in hot and humid Indian conditions.
