The launch of Tata Bolt and Zest was done with high expectations; however the sales of both the cars have not reflected the same. The cars have showed their worst sales numbers in April 2015. Tata Zest could manage the sales of only 1989 units in the month of April 2015, while Bolt hatch sales recorded a number of 633 units only. The cars have been heavily promoted by the company during the past few months both on television as well as internet.

The first four months of the calendar year reflected sales of 6494 units of Bolt only. This number id almost half of the number of the old Indica and Vista combined. The last four months have showed the sales of 11480 units of Vista and Indica combined. The total number of Indigo and Vista reflected a number of 10796 units in the last four months while Zest has shown only 9520 units during the same time period.

This is a grave concern for the manufacturer as it had huge expectation on both the cars. However, the passenger vehicles of the manufacturer showed an impressive run with 37 per cent rise on the year-on-year numbers in April 2015. There was a dip in the utility vehicles segment of the company that has been the trend for some time now. There was a slack of 27 per cent in the sales of utility vehicles.
