The world record for the fastest acceleration for electric cars was recently broken by a group of Swiss students. This racing car was developed by a group of student enthusiasts, who were willing to take on the unconventional path to achieve this feat. The car clocked 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in a jaw-dropping 1.79 seconds. Though, this seems to be impossible but it was definitely a world record and the students were overjoyed to achieve this landmark.

The students of Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts and ETC Zurich were behind the design and manufacturing of this vehicle. The car was incredible in its acceleration when it smashed all previous records with a whopping 1.785 seconds to reach 100 kilometers per hour from ignition. The previous best record was held by an electric car developed by Delft University of Technology. The clocking of this car was 2.134 seconds.

This important event took place at the military airfield of Dubendorf and the vehicle reached this speed within a mere distance of 30 meters. The total number of students who were behind this project was 30 and it was developed within a year. Carbon-fibre technology was used to develop this car and the total weight of this car was 168 kilograms. It is capable of producing a total power 200 hp. The twisting force generated by the car was 1630 Nm and the car boasts of a four-wheel drive option. Traction control was implemented to control each wheel individually for a better acceleration.
