After Uruguay, Suzuki is now heading towards Chile after introducing its well-acclaimed car Swift DZire. With the company’s continued expansion in South America, it seems that the brand is going play bullish in the global arena with this model. The company has introduced three different versions of Swift DZire in Chile, namely GA, GA with air conditioner, and GL.
Suzuki Swift DZire GA will be the base model of the series and will be devoid of an Air Conditioner (AC). The car is priced at 5,790,000 pesos, which is somewhere around Rs. 6.54 lacs. The mid-variant of Swift DZire is the GA variant with AC and is priced at 5,990,000 pesos (around Rs. 6.77 lacs). Top-end edition of DZire in Chile is named as GL, is loaded with a host of features and comes with a price tag of 6,390,000 pesos, close to Rs. 7.22 lacs.
All the variants of Swift DZire are incorporated with the identical 1.2 litre K-Series engine, which has the potential to produce maximum power of 85 bhp. In order to enhance the performance of this powertrain, it has been mated to a manual transmission system that enables easy switching of gears. Similar to Uruguay, the four speed automatic transmission option is also not offered in Chile. Reportedly, it is anticipated that the diesel option may be offered in the country in the near future.
Along with an efficient engine, the company has also offered the car with safety features like Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and dual airbags, which ensure the safety of its occupants. Besides, features like power steering, audio system with radio/CD/MP3 and power windows are also assimilated in the model.
As of now, the new Swift DZire is having a favourable time in the international arena and is widely accepted by the global auto enthusiasts. The car is a big hit in the Indian auto market and is among the preferred choices of buyers. In India, Swift DZire is considered as the segment ruler, since this entry level sedan holds over 39 per cent market share in its segment. In the domestic market, Maruti Suzuki records monthly sales of around 10,000 units of Swift DZire and the Japanese car maker will be hoping to emulate the same success in Chile as well.
