      SsangYong continues increased sales trend for third consecutive month

      Ssangyong Motors continued its growth momentum in India by selling 5,850 units in domestic market and exporting 7,383 units to other markets including completely knocked down units. SsangYong Motors, a part of Mahindra & Mahindra posted collective sales of 13,232 units in March 201. The company posted a growth of 23% year on year and 17.3% accrued growth on global front. SsangYong’s new model Korando C enjoyed high demand in overseas market and domestic market. Since last three months, SsangYong has been reporting increase in sales by selling equal or more than 13,000 units.

      Company’s domestic sales up-surged 18.8% as against same month in 2013, and accrued sales rose by 26.4 %. Surging demand for SsangYong’s vehicles including, Korando Sports and Rexton W that saw a growth in demand by 30% and New Korando C contributed towards thriving sales momentum for the third consecutive month.

      Demand of SsangYong’s models in overseas markets grew by 26.5% year-on-year, company reported increase in accrued sales by 10.6% on the back of New Korando C exported to significant markets like China and Europe. Export of New Korando C increased by 7,000 units as against 7,552 units shipped in November 2013.

      Situation seems to have improved in Europe as sales grew by 68.5% at 3,971 units as compared to 2,357 units year-on-year in the first quarter.

      SangYong witnessed preeminent growth in Chinese automotive market with a rise in sale at 4,320 units in first quarter this year as against meagre 92 units sold in the same period last year. Company is currently exporting new Korando C and new Acyton to China and it hopes that demand for its vehicles will continue to grow in coming time.
