Mumbai, 28th July 2008: SkodaIndia, a fully owned subsidiary of SkodaAuto a.s. Czech Republic (Volkswagen Group), one of the fastest growing car manufacturers in Europe, today announced that the company is increasing price by Rs.10,000 to Rs. 25,000 across all the models effective August 1, 2008.

Commenting on the price hike, Mr. Thomas Kuehl, Member Board of Directors, Sales and Marketing, said, “The price hike has been necessitated by a variety of cost push factors like surge in freight costs and raw materials. The company has made efforts to absorb maximum costs to keep the price rise marginal so then impact to our valued customers is minimised.”

With 69% growth in sales in June 2008 as compared to June 2007, SkodaIndia’s success story continues with the Fabia being well accepted in the Indian market.
