The two-wheeler department of Honda India has started shipping the locally made 2015 CBR250R bikes to other markets in Mexico and South America. However, the company officials have denied confirming this report, but sources suggest that these motorcycles will be launched there in near future.

Coming to the technical configuration of the new CBR250R, the bike continues to use the same 300 cc single-cylinder engine, mated to a six-speed gearbox. However, this engine is retuned to churn out a maximum power of 28 bhp, in contrast to the 25 bhp being produced by the current generation model. Experts believe it is unlikely that the new CBR250R will be launched in the Indian market before the clearance of existing stock of the current model. Although there is no confirmation from the company officials, the rumor mill indicates that Honda has stopped the manufacturing of currently offered CBR250R.

It must be noted that the new CBR250R is being given a major facelift. The reworked CBR250R looks synonymous to its bigger sibling CBR1000R Fireblade, whereas the current generation CBR250R shares its looks with VFR sports touring bike. The new version now features twin headlamps and a new fairing, enhancing its aerodynamics. Components like instrument cluster and clip-on handlebars have been sourced from the previous generation motorcycle.
