Royal Enfield, the Indian heavy motorcycle manufacturer, has reported a jaw-dropping 41 per cent. The growth in sales numbers increased from 25010 units in May 2014 to 35354 units in the same month in 2015. The company has shown a robust sales performance and was primarily driven by the increasing demand for 350 cc models. The growth shown in sales was approximately 40 per cent and recorded a number of 31227 units as against 25010 in May 2014. The sales of 350 cc category showed a rise of 56 per cent from 2654 to 4127 units.
The parent company, Eicher Motors Ltd said in a statement filed at BSE that Royal Enfield had shipped 739 units of motorcycles in May 2015, which went up from 501 units in last year. The company, has till now, sold 162116 units of motorcycles, which was up by 43 per cent from 113096 units. The sale of 350 cc motorcycles witnessed a sale of 142705 units, which rose from 99035 vehicles, showing a 44 per cent growth.
The company has incidentally, sold 19411 units of motorcycles above 350 cc category from January to May 2015. The number was merely at 14061 units during the same period in 2014. Growth was nearly 38 per cent. The overseas numbers also showed a boost by 50 per cent from 2589 to 3881 units.
