Audi India will launch the RS6 Avant in India today. Based on the Audi A6, the RS6 Avant would be the company’s first estate in India that could be priced over Rs. 1 crore (ex-showroom). Audi will bring the car as CBU (Completely Built Units) unit in limited numbers.

Powering the RS6 Avant is a 4.0-litre, 32V V8 TFSI bi-turbo engine that also does duty in the RS7 Sportback. It produces a whooping power 560bhp at 5700rpm – 6600rpm and a peak torque of 700Nm at 1750rpm – 5500rpm. This powertrain is mated to an 8-speed tiptronic transmission that helps the car to attain top speed between 250kmph - 304kmph. The Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive system further improves its acceleration performance, and enables it to achieve 0-100kmph in 3.9 seconds.

This V8 engine is boasted with Audi's valvelift cylinder-on-demand technology that operates it and closes each side of intake and exhaust valves when not needed. The valvelift is connected to the start-stop system that saves fuel. Coming to the design, the RS6 Avant gets some styling cues from the A6 and S6 facelifts. It wears aggressive styling with new LED DRLs, a single-piece grille, adaptive LEDs or Matrix lights and new taillight.

The car sits on 20-inches alloy wheels, while the 21-inches alloys come as optional offering. It also features a RS adaptive air suspension with dynamic ride control and lowered ride height and black leather upholstery with red and silver highlights. Similar to the RS7 Sportback, the Audi RS6 Avant offers comfort and space of a station wagon along with sporty performance.
