Mahindra Reva has affirmed that its next generation e 2o electric vehicle is a product of the company's revolutionary vision called 'Future of Mobility.' The futuristic idea was revealed in early 2012 by Anand Mahindra, Managing Director (MD) and Chairman, Mahindra Group.

“E 2o will draw power from the battery only when you press the accelerator. The only consumption is the AC and the music system – which is very nominal. At Mahindra REVA, we focus our energy and investments on R&D. At the same time, Mahindra REVA is also committed to ensuring a low carbon footprint and low-cost manufacturing”, says Mahindra Reva.

The soon-to-be launched Mahindra e 2o was earlier known to common public and global automobile industry as the Reva NXR Concept electric vehicle, which was showcased at the 2012 New Delhi Auto Expo. Interestingly, the much hyped e 2o has been designed on the cutting edge 5 C's framework of Clean, Convenient, Connected, Clever and Cost Effective mobility solutions. Mahindra Group is working towards establishing a strong electric vehicle portfolio in the country and its e 2o is the first product in the process.

The launch of Mahindra e 2o is anticipated soon in the country and will be assembled at the company's new state-of-the-art electric vehicle production unit in Bengaluru. Mahindra Reva's Bengaluru based unit is also the country's first platinum certified automobile assembling facility. As per reports, the plant has an annual production output of 30,000 electrically driven cars, which highlight the company's ambitious plans for its electric vehicle business in Indian auto market.

Expressing his opinion on the Mahindra e 2o, Dr. Pawan Goenka, President, Automotive and Farm Equipment Sectors (FES), M&M was quoted as saying, “The Mahindra e 2o is a game changing development within the personal mobility space that will help the Mahindra Group usher in a positive change in the lives of our customers.”
