Biking with your peers can indeed be fun as you move ahead and explore open skies. Researchers from Washington have developed a new bamboo bicycle that can recharge mobile devices like smart phones and other devices. The bike also gets a navigation dashboard that measures distance and time. Moreover, the device also gets a blue tooth connection option.

The bamboo bike by Bambootec consortium from Yucatan, a state in the south of Mexico, uses Kinetic energy generated during pedaling and converts it into electricity that can be used for phone charging as well as navigation dashboard charging that is located on the handlebars. The bike features an electric converter that controls the voltage generated. To control the sudden rise or dip in power originating while pedaling, the makers have installed a regulator to control the converter.

The bike has been designed on a bamboo frame that is connected with special resin and can take loads of about 120 kilos without much effort. Moreover, it also makes the bike lighter and less prone to heat as compared to regular bikes. The bike features three USB charging outputs – the first one for the navigation dashboard, the second one for charging other mobile devices and the third one for charging smart-phone's external batteries.
