      Renault aims to be among top three brands in India by 2015

      The France based leading car maker Renault is aiming to enter its name in the top three car brands in the Indian market by year 2015. The company has planned to roll-out a series of car models in the country over a period of next 18 months. In a recent statement, deputy country managing director - Renault India, Sudhir Rao said that the company wants to be in the list of top three brands by 2015 in terms of brand image, though not in terms of value and volume.

      The company is all set to mark its re-entry into the Indian market with the launch of its premium sedan – Fluence in Indian soon. The launch of  Renault Fluence will be followed by the launch of luxury sports utility vehicle (SUV) – Koleos which is scheduled to hit the Indian market by the end of this year.

      In year 2008, the Nissan-Renault joint venture company had signed a memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tamil Nadu Government for setting-up a Greenfield facility in Oragadam, near Chennai. Till now, the JV Company has already invested about Rs 2,500 crore in the Indian market, out of a proposd investment of Rs 4,500 crore till 2015.
