American carmaker Ford gained a good footing in the domestic market owing to its stylish compact SUV named EcoSport in the country. This time around news has been doing rounds that the company may usher in a refreshingly new trim sometime soon. The first look of the facelifted Ecosport compact SUV was seen at the 2015 Geneva Motor show.
As part of fresh upgrades, the vehicle sports 17-inch wheels, a black roof and mirror caps, along with a privacy glass and a rear diffuser. Apart from this, no major differences could be noted except for the absence of tailgate mounted spare wheel. The spare wheel in the new trim has found a place under the boot area. The number plate has moved up from the rear bumper to the rear door. Added to this, the new trim shall also get a SatNav system along with a rear view camera. For improved performance the vehicle also comes loaded with power steering system and Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system.
The exiting engines have been retuned and upgraded to produce an additional 5 PS of power and also comply to Euro 6.1 emission standard. The suspension has been re-tuned for better stability to the chassis, whereas the ground clearance has also been reduced by about 10mm. More details about the vehicle has not been known for now and the company may speak about it in detail at the time of its launch.
