Rajasthan government has announced to establish two automobile manufacturing hubs near its Alwar district, with a firm target to revitalise the state's image as an industry friendly and growth focussed one. The announcement came through Rajendra Pareek, Industries Minister, Rajasthan State Government, on November 4, 2012 in Gurgaon.

Pareek further informed about the new world class automotive manufacturing hubs, which have been planned to be set up at Tapukara and Khushkheda extensions in Alwar district. The Minister also acknowledged Pathredi district in Rajasthan as a special automotive manufacturing and engineering hub.

Pareek addressed media persons, top industry players and experts at the 'Invest North' conclave organised in Gurgaon by the non-government, not-for-profit, industry-led and industry-managed institution - Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). Pareek said that the state of Rajasthan is fast becoming a pivotal region for automotive engineering and manufacturing purposes, with the easy availability of raw materials along with yet uncapped energy sectors, such as oil and gas exploration, minerals and solar power. The minister also affirmed that Rajasthan has deposits of over 79 different minerals, out of only 58 are being extracted, at present.

Addressing the CII's Invest North conclave, Pareek said, “Rajasthan also has rich reserves of oil and natural gas. Some of it is already being extracted. The Mangla oilfield discovered in our state in 2004 is the largest hydrocarbon find in the country since 1985.” The minister of industries further added that huge potential opportunities can still be capped in ceramics, cement, glass and farm products industries. Pareek ensured that proper steps are being taken to encourage investment in unconventional and renewable sources of energy, such as solar, wind power and bio-mass.

Pareek assured that Rajasthan state government provides the most investor friendly policies. Towards facilitating investment in state, the government has devised the Statutory Single Window System, the Investment Promotion Scheme of 2010 and the Online Electronic Clearance Mechanism, all of which are adept at ensuring transparent and timely approvals for investments.

According to Pareek, Rajasthan is ranked fifth among all Indian states in generating power from unconventional and renewable energy resources. Further, the government has identified and earmarked about 8,000 hectares of land, dedicated exclusively for the assembly of solar power driven parks. Pareek also mentioned that Information Technology (IT) sector employs around 15,000 people.

According to Sunil Arora, Principal Secretary, Rajasthan government, a state-of-the-art Greenfield Integrated Township has been planned to be built in the Bhiwadi-Neemrana-Khushkheda belt. The upcoming township will provide high speed physical connectivity to the National Capital and is the government's first major undertaking along the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial corridor.

Expressing his views on the upcoming township, Arora, said, “Around 170 sq. km. had already been delineated for this futuristic city. It will be a high-tech industrial and agricultural area with a knowledge city, besides residential areas. The proceedings for notifying the master plan of the city have already been initiated.”
