The plant of Volkswagen located in Pune, Maharashtra, has been working on this project since the year 2012 and it has identified key areas, namely VOC Emissions, Energy Consumption, CO2 Emissions, Water Consumption and Waste Generation. Not only has the firm gone ahead to implement these projects, the facility has delivered results that can be quantified in numbers.

Volkswagen is emphasising on Heat Recovery Unit project in the year 2015. This unit was applied at the exhaust end of Top Coat Oven, which is located in Paint Shop. It has managed to produce sustainable results by the use of flue gases vented out at a maximum temperature of around 320 degree Celsius. The result of this reduction facilitated saving of a large amount of Natural Gas consumption and electricity as well. Furthermore, the CO2 emissions were also reduced due to this entire process. Officials from Volkswagen have been keenly involved in overseeing the implementation of this project and come from various departments.
