Nissan’s luxury brand, Infiniti has revealed the production version of the Q30 hatchback ahead of its premiere at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show in September. The production Q30 looks similar to its concept, which was showcased as concept at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.

The hatchback retains several styling elements from the concept such as the signature grille design, swept-back headlamps, a edgy raked windscreen, pronounced flowing lines, raising roof line and arrow–shot’ inspired rear pillars. Though, it gets a new front bumper with revised air vents and air dams, modified headlamp elements and garnish on the lower lip. The wing mirrors and wheels, too, are different from the concept. The Infiniti Q30 is based on the MFA platform that also underpins its closed rival - the Mercedes-Benz A-Class.

Though, the interior and engine details are still under wraps. The hatchback is expected to be powered with a 2.2-litre direct-injection turbo diesel engine that also does duty to the Q50 sedan. This engine is capable to produce a maximum power of 170PS and 400Nm of torque. Transmitting power to the front wheels will be a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed automatic transmission. Features on offer could be Infiniti’s InTuition entertainment system with a 6-speaker sound system, leather seats, automatic climate control, automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers and optional LED headlights.

The production of the Q30, which is expected to start by the end of 2015, will take place at Nissan’s Sunderland, England plant.
