The NCP chief, Sharad Pawar lashed out on State Chief Minister, Maharashtra, Prithviraj Chavan once again. According to Pawar, Maharashtra is losing major industrial projects to other states as the present Congress-led DF Government is not capable of taking wise decisions. Maharashtra lost a Rs. 4,000-crore Maruti Suzuki India project to Gujarat and the Mahindra Group's Rs. 4,000-crore four-wheeler plant to Tamil Nadu, a fact resented by Pawar at a state party convention.

He blamed it on the state government saying that it could not create a proper industrial ambience which made them lose the projects. He further added, "Maruti is moving its project to Gujarat. So I asked Heavy Industries Minister Praful Patel the reason. He said Maharashtra is not ready to implement the policy it had announced earlier." Without addressing the CM, he said, "Decisions are taken but not implemented. This has been happening for the past six months."

Chief, Maharashtra Congress, Manikrao Thakre, refuted the blames of Pawar and said, "The two parties are equally responsible for the working of this Government. If Pawar saheb has any reservations, leaders from the two parties should speak instead of publicly making comments." A short while ago, Chavan had to face Pawar's rebuke for his incapability to handle the drought situation.

While in a party's state executive meeting held on 2nd June, senior NCP leader, Madhukar Pichhad was re-elected as the president of party's Maharashtra unit.
