Pamela Anderson, the well known actress and former star of Baywatch, is ready to charm the world of motor sports with her own car racing team, Downforce1. Her team will take part in the upcoming International GT Open and European Le Mans championships. In addition, Anderson also has other dreams for car racing and plans to introduce a team for NASCAR, the largest motor sport event of USA, by next year.

Regarding motor sports, Anderson said, “Fast cars and fast women go together. Here we are surrounded by men, I love it.”

Downforce1 was supposed to start its 2012 race campaign on 8-9 April at the International GT Race, but had to rescheduled its plans because for some technical issues. Therefore, the team will hit the track for the first time at the GT Open Series round, which will be held on 28th April at Portimao.

Anderson claimed that she assembled her talented team, which has a racing experience for more than 10 years, over the span of just four months. The team will compete on the racetrack in an Aston Martin GT2 decorated with blue and white colours, which are preferred by Anderson. On this, Pam commented, “These gentlemen have achieved the impossible and built up a team in just four months so I cannot wait to see my cars on the racetrack... it’s hard to believe until I see it. Look for us in white and blue – my signature colour.”

Markus Fux has been nominated as the chief driver of Downforce1. He will also hold the positions of team coordinator and chief marketing officer as well. Fux is said to be the first driver from Australia to compete in NASCAR. On the other hand, David Prewitt is the Team Manager, Giulio Pucci is listed as Sporting Director and Gabor Csabi is considered as Chief Engineer of Downforce1.

The sponsors of Downforce1 include People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), for which Pam has remained as a dynamic supporter throughout her career, and ICM, a talent agency that administers the career of Anderson.

Right from exciting outfits to racing overalls, the star will likely shift the attention of a large number of auto aficionados towards the racing event. Anderson stated, “I'm thrilled to be a part of this incredible racing team - it will be a wild ride.”

Notably, Anderson is not the only female superstar to own a racing team. In 2010, Paris Hilton, the world renowned socialite, co-founded a 125 cc SuperMartxe Vip MotoGP team, which grabbed third position at the 2011 championship.
