For a while now, many key-players in the Indian automobile market has been struggling to achieve impressive sales number in the country. As the year comes to an end, the month of November seemed to have brought a smile on the faces of leading carmakers in the country. Going by reports, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. has sold a total of about 1,10,147 units in November 2014 as compared to 92,140 units reported in November last year. The numbers also include 1,00,024 units sold in the domestic market and about 10,123 units that were exported.

Brand like Hyundai Motor India Ltd has reported a total sale of about 54,011 units that include 35,511 units in domestic market and about 18,500 units that were exported in November. Hyundai India's cumulative sales were also up by 8.7 per cent. Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has reported a 19% growth in comparison to previous year in the same month. Toyota has reportedly sold about 12,175 units last month as compared to 10,208 units reported in the previous year.

Speaking more on the occasion, P Balendran, Vice-President, General Motors India, said to Hindu Business Line, “Even though the lower fuel prices are encouraging, the interest rates remain sticky and inflation continues to be high. Discounts are at their peak and sales of diesel vehicles are tapering off as the price differential between the two fuels is dropping sharply. Going by the market scenario, we expect the challenging times to continue till some major announcements take place in the budget to improve customer sentiment.”
