Nissan Micra has been the only hatchback offered by the Japanese car-maker in the budget friendly segment for the Indian market. The car boasts of interesting features like the Push Button Start. Nissan Micra has also won the prestigious “2010 Small Car of the Year” award for the petrol variant. The recently launched Datsun Go hatchback coming from a similar production line, seems to share some resemblance with Micra hatchback from Nissan. Nissan has made strong claims about the cars in terms of quality construct and efficient engine.
This hatchback is powered by 1.2 litre HR12 engine, dual over head camshaft. The 3-cylinder 12 valve in-line petrol mill has the capacity to displace close to 1198cc. Nissan Micra features a unique power train churn out a maximum power output of 74.48Bhp at 6000 Rpm in combination with a peak torque output of 104Nm at 4000 Rpm. The engine has been mated to a 5-Speed manual transmission gear box and has been designed to deliver simplified gear shifts. For safety, the car features anti-lock braking system with EBD and brake assist. Furthermore, the front occupants in the car are secured with airbags.
On the exterior front, the Micra hatchback sports stylish fog lamps. The rear tail lights also get LED induced lamps. Sleek and smooth curves render it an up market feel. The stylish looking Blue alloy wheels further add to its sporty appeal. The interior is quite spacious and features a dual two-tone combination. The car also gets a Engine Stop/Start button for added convenience. The Nissan Micra is offered at a starting Price tag of Rs. 4,82,312 (Ex-showroom Delhi).
