      New Volvo C30 Launched

      Satish Kalepu

Frankfurt Auto show is still few days ahead but Volvo has already revealed its latest face-lifted C30 model features. It is one of Volvo’s most unique looking cars and seems to be youthfully designed amongst its entire range of production cars. The new car takes its cues from the S60 concept and the recently revealed C70.

There are five diesel options, ranging in power from 107bhp to 177bhp, and three petrols, ranging from 99bhp to 227bhp. These include two DRIVe eco models powered by the 1.6-litre diesel engine. The version with stop-start averages 72.4mpg and emits 104g/km of CO2, while the version without the system averages 62.8mpg and emits 119g/km.

The new model has a relatively long wheelbase, delicately arced roofline and narrow rear cabin. It clearly defines itself with a rakish and dynamic presence, and on the inside its dimensions are reflected with a four bucket seat arrangement. Interiors are quite spacious and comfortable in the front as well as rear. The new model goes on sale from 2010 in the European and US markets and the prices for the same will be announced around the launch date.
