Volkswagen had revealed sketches of its new upcoming sedan model for the Indian market. According to the latest official statement that car will be now launched in the Indian market on July 06. The model will placed in between new Hyundai Verna Transform and Honda City and will compete with its German engineering as its strong point.
Volkswagen Vento is based on Polo platform and will come with two power trains. It will be powered by 1.6L petrol engine producing 105bhp that is currently present in BS III compliant Volkswagen Jetta. It will also be available as a diesel model powered by 1.6L engine producing 105 bhp. It is expected that the model will be available with both manual and power transmissions.
Vento is 4.38 meters long, 1.7 m wide, 1.46 m high and comes with a wheelbase of 2.55m. The mileage of Vento diesel is expected to be 14 kmpl.VW Vento will be available in 5 vibrant colors: Deep Black, Flash Red, Glacier Blue, Silver and Candy White.
“The way we were competitive when we launched the hatchback (Polo), similarly we will be competitive in terms of value proposition and impact segment with the sedan,” said Neeraj Garg, Director VW Group Sales India.
