Volkswagen India will launch the much-awaited new Jetta facelift on February 17, 2015. Ahead of its launch, VW India’s dealers have already started taking pre-bookings for the sedan at a token amount of Rs. 1 lakh. First premiered at the 2014 New York Motor Show, the sedan later made its public debut on different platforms. The updated Jetta saloon gets mild makeover to its exteriors and interiors.
The new Volkswagen Jetta features an all-new front fascia. It has a new triple-slat chrome grille which is complemented by restyled headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lamps. The sedan gets all-new bumper that accommodates new fog lamp enclosures. Its flared wheel arches have been fitted to a new set of alloy wheels; however, the side profile of the sedan remains largely unchanged. At the rear, the updated Jetta comes with new LED tail lamp cluster and modified bumper.
The interiors changes are very minimal, as the sedan gets few additional features. It is equipped with new three-spoke multi-functional steering wheel, which has been borrowed from the 2014 Polo hatchback. The sedan also has new music system with piano black surrounds, new upholstery for seats and few other changes to keep things fresh in the market.
The 2014 Volkswagen Jetta will be offered with the same petrol and diesel fuel options- 1.4-litre petrol and 2.0-litre diesel engines. It is expected to be priced slightly higher than the current model. The new sedan will rival against the likes of Hyundai Elantra, Skoda Octavia, Renault Fluence and Toyota Corolla Altis.
