German luxury car maker BMW has revealed an all-new and updated model of its SUV BMW X5. The second-generation E70 X5 model was introduced in late 2006. Now the company has dutifully revealed a face lifted 2011 variant of the same which was long overdue. The all new BMW X5 gets new bumpers added both on front and rear, larger air intakes in the front fascia, BMW’s second-generation iDrive system, a distinctively contoured hood and new tail lamps with LED detailing. Buyers also have more optional features to choose from. These include a panorama glass roof, a DVD system, heated steering wheel, adaptive cornering lights, heads-up display, a reverse camera, lane departure warning and more.

The model is expected to go into production in April 2010 and will debut at the New York Auto show this year. The 2011 BMW X5 comes onto the U.S. market in two new flavors--the X5 xDrive50i and X5 xDrive35i--in addition to the familiar X5 xDrive35d turbo diesel.

BMW offers 4 new car models of X5 – the xDrive35i, the xDrive50i, the xDrive30d and the xDrive40d. US customers should expect the new X5 soon after its reveal in April while sales in the UK and Germany will kick start in early June. The car is expected to be priced at 54,000 Euros or Rs. 34.56 lakh.
