Japanese autogiant Toyota has been well known across the globe for its immense technological potential. This time around the automaker has unveiled two next-generation technologically advanced thermal insulation induced, diesel combustion engines. Rechristened as Thermo Swing Wall Insulation Technology (TSWIN), the engines are stated to be lighter in weight, stronger and has considerably lower emission levels.
The two new engines are - 2.8-liter 1GD-FTV unit and the other is a 2.4-liter 2GD-FTV unit. The 2.8 Liter engine is capable of generating about 175 Hp at about 400 Nm of torque, whereas the 2.4 Litre engine is capable of generating about 148 Hp at 400 Nm of torque. The engines utilize Thermo Swing Wall Insulation Technology and its pistons have been built using silica-reinforced porous anodized aluminum (SiRPA) that reduces about 30% of cooling loss during combustion.
