Czech auto maker Skoda Auto launched a new variant of its premium sedan Superb in the Indian market. The new model is now cheaper by Rs. 1.5 lakh owing to the new 1.8L TSI engine that now powers the model. The new engine replaces the old one which was not compliant with the new emission norms that became effective in India from April 01. "The addition of the 1.8 TSI manual transmission to the current range will offer a wider choice to our customers and also allow us to introduce our newest technologies into the Indian market," Skoda Auto India Senior General Manager (Sales and Marketing) Ashutosh Dixit said in a statement.

The addition of MT will ensure that the car offers enhanced driving capacity and complete engine performance control. This addition in Superb is first of its kind in its range of cars.
