Skoda India, the domestic arm of Czech-based auto maker, recently introduced the third generation model of Octavia in the domestic auto market. With the launch of a new model on October 3, the company created a stir in C+ segment. Reportedly, within a short span of time, Skoda India has already registered 1,000 bookings of new Octavia and the number is expected to substantially increase in the ongoing festive season. It is being said that the company has analysed every aspect crucially before launching the new model in the Indian market, which in-turn has turn the tides in its favour.

Expressing his views on the development, the Managing Director of Skoda Auto India, Sudhir Rao was quoted as saying, “The Octavia is the heart of our brand and is our attempt to give customers one of the best offerings in the country. The Octavia will set new benchmarks in space, ride quality and ownership experience. With the new design language the Octavia is a head turner and is a great value proposition for the Indian consumer. We will continue to bring products that redefine segments and ownership experience.”

In order to cater a wide section of society, the company has introduced its new car in three different variants, namely Active, Elegance and Ambition. A 1.4 TSI petrol engine has been equipped within the Active and Ambition variants, which churns out a maximum power of 138 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque. The top-end version, Elegance, is powered by a 1.8 TSI powertrain, which belts out a maximum power output of 177bhp along with torque of up to 250 Nm. For buyers, who prefer a diesel engine, a 2.0-litre TDI oil burner has been offered in all the three variants, which generates a power output of 141 bhp and 320 Nm of peak torque.

On the recent development, the company's Director for Sales and Marketing, Pawel Szuflak said, “We are delighted with the wonderful response that the Octavia has got from the market. It further substantiates our belief in the product and the customer’s loyalty towards the brand. The overwhelming response has been encouraging and will push us to bring in more such products which allow consumers to express themselves.”

Priced between Rs. 13.95 lakh and Rs. 19.1 lakh, industry experts are of a view that the new Octavia has perfectly catered the demands of price sensitive Indian buyers up to great heights. Adding to the likes of newly launched Octavia, Skoda India has also introduced an innovative online booking platform, through which interested buyers can order the model conveniently.
