      New Hyundai Tucson SUV officially revealed

      Hyundai, the South Korean automaker, has finally revealed the much-awaited new generation Tucson SUV ahead of its official debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The carmaker has also released important details about the SUV. It will be launched as the new generation ix35 in the international market, but will be sold under Tucson badge.

      The crossover will be offered in two petrol and two diesel engines. The petrol engine is powered by a 1.6-litre unit that will come in both naturally aspirated and turbocharged form. While the naturally aspirated engine develops 133bhp, the turbocharged engine offers 174bhp of power. The diesel engine line-up includes a 1.7-litre unit that is good for 113bhp and a 2.0-litre unit that offers two states of tunes 134bhp and 181bhp. The powerful 2.0L option will also be made available in four wheel drive option. Transmission options include- six-speed manual, six-speed automatic or seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.

      Featuring Hyundai’s new 2.0-Fluidic design philosophy, the Tucson SUV gets prominent front grille flanked by newly designed headlamps. The interiors of the SUV is equipped with park assist, ventilated and heated seats, electric tailgate, navigation system which is claimed to be three times faster than the previous model. Based on an all-new platform, that also underpins the new Kia Sportage, the Tucson crossover features spacious cabin. It offers a large 513-litres of boot space, which is more than sufficient to accommodate four suitcases.
