Mercedes Benz India has launched the new E Class E350 CDI variant in India today priced at Rs 57.42 lakh. The E350 CDI version was earlier available for sale in domestic market on the pre-facelift model, however the company rolled out four cylinder petrol and diesel engine options last year when it introduced tweaked version of E Class launched in India. Power is supplied through an athletic 3.5 litre V6 diesel powertrain. The diesel engine is capable of engendering a towering power output of 261 Bhp at 3400 RPM and 620 Nm of top torque between 1600 to 2400 RPM.
The engine offered on the 250 CDI variant relatively offers lesser power output at 201 Bhp and 500 Nm of torque. On the performance front, the newly inducted E350 CDI acquires 100 kmph mark from rest within 6.4 seconds driving past E250 CDI by minimal difference. The E250 CDI sprints to 100 kmph from 0 in 7.5 seconds, similarly the former is 10 kmph faster that the latter when it comes to top-speed. Placed above the E250 variant, the new;y launched E350 variant will be manufactured at the company’s manufacturing unit located in Chakan Pune.
Equipments such as Active Lane Keeping Assist, Distronic Plus adaptive cruise control with Steering Assist, Cross Traffic Assistant, Adaptive high-beam lights, pedestrian recognition, blind parking and automatic parking have been included in the new E350 variant. Other prominent features such as 17 inch alloy wheels, panoramic sunroof (now available as a standard fitment across E Class range), Harman Kardon infotainment system with voice control and rear seat entertainment system are also included.
The E350 CDI has finally been unleashed to give stiff competition to other vehicles in its segment including Jaguar XF 3.0 V6, BMW 530d M Sport and Audi A6 3.0 TDI.
