Mercedes Benz India has finally launched the Special Editions of A-Class and B Class hatchbacks, dubbed, ‘Edition 1’. The A-Class Edition 1 is priced at Rs 26.17 lakh and the B-Class Edition 1 is priced at Rs 28.75 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai). These special editions are being offered on the diesel variants of the hatchbacks. Edition 1 variants of A and B Class have been bestowed with insignificant revisions on exteriors and interiors. Mechanically, the vehicles largely remain unchanged except for the improved ground clearance that enables bettered ride quality. Courtesy the improved ride quality, both the vehicles are now claimed to be more effective on bumpy roads.
Tweaks made to the exterior of the vehicles include glossy black cover, running boards and headliners affixed with Edition 1 badges, redesigned 17 inch alloy wheels imparting sporty look to the hatchbacks among others. Inside the cabin an an electrically adjustable passenger’s seat, rear centre armrest with cup holders, reverse camera and a panoramic sunroof have been included. An exquisite rear seat entertainment package is being offered on B-Class Edition 1 variant only.
Under the hood, Edition 1 special editions of A and B Class hatchbacks will continue to be powered with the same engine options.
