Maruti is anticipating a strong demand for its new and upcoming model, Maruti A Star, in India. According to the company spokes person, the company will definitely step up A-Star’s production if there is enough demand.

Small car sales earmarked sales of nearly 50,000 units in the domestic car market. This 5-door hatchback model has drawn its inspiration from European models but has typical Indian features for the Indian driving conditions. It also conforms to the BS-III emission norms and boasts of lower CO2 emission. Maruti Suzuki is also proud of this model which is perhaps the only model in the world will have 750 variants which will be sold in nearly 150 countries.

Maruti currently enjoys 55 percent market share in India and is India’s largest car manufacturer and exporter. Suzuki hopes to re-enter the European market with its new A-star model which will be available as Maruti Alto in European markets. The car will be manufactured at the Manesar plant of Maruti Suzuki which has the capacity to handle larger volumes of production, if demand scales up.
