The country’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki India Limited has said that it will be going ahead with the plan of setting-up a new factory at Manesar by mid next year. After the deadly clashes of Wednesday that caused the death of their HR Manager, it was widely speculated that the company may shell the plans of establishing a new plant in Manesar.

Speaking to ET, Mr. Shinzo Nakanishi, Maruti Suzuki Managing Director, said, "It's a big trauma for my people (referring to his managerial staff.) We will not take it anymore." "I will personally ask Haryana Chief Minister BS Hooda for a thorough investigation and would like to know if there are any shadows that are sabotaging our operations in India," he added.

The company has said that the new plant in Gujarat will be an expansion of their operations in the Indian market, and it won’t be an alternative to their existing plants in Manesar and Gurgaon. Mr. Nakanishi also said that this not the first of its kind incident in the company’s global operations which is spread across a number of countries including Hungary, Indonesia, Spain, Pakistan, Thailand, Malaysia, China and the Philippines
