Indian auto giant Maruti Suzuki, which has been facing a complete production halt at its Manesar unit since last 11 days, accepted the demand of a separate union from the agitating workers. Suffering huge losses due to workers' strike, the company said on Tuesday that it is restarting the production even if the strike continues.
The company also mulls to shift a part of its Manesar production to the neighboring Gurgaon facility. In a statement given to TOI, SY Siddiqui, Maruti Suzuki's head of HR, said, "We have conveyed this to them and we are taking a very open view on the matter." Mr. Siddiqui is among the key management persons to lead the talks.
While further clearing company’s stance on the demand of reinstating 11 previously sacked employees, he said, "We have said that we are ready to consider the demand sympathetically. But the internal work culture should be restored. We have a liberal view on the matter."
The volume driving car models of the company including Swift, Swift Dzire and SX4 have been struggling with a crippled production due to this strike.
