Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest carmaker is gearing up for the launch of much-awaited SX4 S-Cross crossover. Post that, the company will also launch several new products including a premium hatchback (Codenamed YRA), compact SUV (Codenamed YBA), Swift Dzire facelift and Ertiga facelift this year. The Ertiga facelift is likely to go on sale in the second quarter of 2015, and the vehicle has been spotted quite a few times while testing. Ahead of its launch, few new details about the updated model have been surfaced on the web world.
Talking about changes, the Ertiga facelift gets revised front grille with top-end model having heavy chrome inserts. The fog lamps get chrome surrounds, while the all-new bumper features wider air dam. The side profile of the car largely remains the same, except for the few changes to wheels and ORVMs. The wheel arches have been fitted to newly designed alloy wheels, while the outside rear view mirrors are now electrically adjustable and retractable, and it also features integrated blinkers. The rear of the MPV, however, remains unchanged.
The Ertiga facelift will get new features, which are offered with the Swift facelift. The vehicle is likely to get new Bluetooth equipped audio system, new upholstery for seats, keyless entry, Push Start/Stop button, etc. Other than these changes, the interiors are expected to remain the same.
Like the Swift, the updated Ertiga will be more fuel efficient than the current model. Under the bonnet is the same 1.4-litre K Series petrol engine producing 94bhp and 130Nm and the 1.3-litre Fiat’s multi-jet unit that is good for 89bhp and 200Nm of torque. It is expected that the fuel efficiency figures have been increased by up to 10 per cent. Rumours also suggest that the company is planning to introduce the automated manual transmission equipped Ertiga.
