Reports regarding the launch of Maruti Suzuki’s compact Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) codenamed YBA have been doing rounds for a long time now and its launch is imminent. According to several reports, Maruti Suzuki has been testing it exhaustively for the past two months now, which is indicative of the progress the model has made. Though the launch is not likely to happen this year, there is a chance that Maruti Suzuki might showcase the vehicle at the 2016 Auto Expo. A recent report by GaadiWaadi.com suggests that this car was spotted testing with almost no camouflaged a few days back, thereby giving away a lot of details.
The upcoming compact SUV from Maruti Suzuki is based on the much-hyped XA Alpha concept model that was shown at the 2014 Auto Expo. Similarities to this concept vehicle include its roofline and the window lines. Other details that can be fathomed from spy shots include roof-integrated spoiler, multi-slat grille and 15/16-inch wheels.
As far as mechanical configuration is concerned, this utility vehicle will feature regular Suzuki powertrains and the expected ones are 1.2-litre K12B petrol and 1.3-litre Multijet. The firms has not spoken much as it is trying to keep things under wraps but experts feel it will not stay out of limelight for long.
