Naza Premira, the official distributor of Aprilia in Malaysia, will initiate the assembling of Shiver 750 motorcycle, scheduled for release next year. The Shiver 750 has been marketed in Malaysia for some time now, the CKD model will be priced at 7.93 lakhs INR as against the Completely Built Unit at 10.09 lakhs INR.
Among the range of Aprilia motorcycles, Shiver 750 is the most affordable model. This naked bike is powered by a 750 cc V-twin engine that is capable of delivering 95 bhp power and a torque output of 81 Nm. Mated through six-speed transmission the bike gets an electronic wire throttle. This model shall be the only model to be locally assembled in Malaysia. However, the rest of the product line-up will be imported from Italy. Apart from the European country, Malaysia becomes the first nation to locally assemble an Aprilia bike. All other countries, which bring this bike, import it from the manufacturing nation directly. Incidentally, the bike will be locally assembled at the manufacturing facility in Naza at Shah Alam.
The company has made an investment of around 9.01 crores INR, which is expected to have an annual capacity of 1200 units. The facility for now will provide only for the Malaysian market. However, there are expectations that the Italian manufacturer might expand its capacity to other South Asian markets, including India.
