Mahindra Two Wheelers, the completely owned division of Mahindra Group, seems all set to launch its second 110 cc bike in the Indian auto market. Sources close to the development process have revealed that the model will sparkle at the Indian roads on July 1, 2013. Interestingly, Centuro was showcased along with the Pantero 110 cc bike, which has been already put to sale from quite a few months.
It must be noted that the Centuro happens to be a more stylish substitute to the Pantero model, and more probably better than the latter. Post launch, the Centuro will deliver a stiff competition to the Discover 100T, Honda Dream Yuga and the Hero Passion X Pro. The key highlights of the upcoming bike would me Find Me Lamps, Guide Me Home Lamps, engine immobilizer, LED pilot lamps and a white backlit digital speedometer console. Interestingly, Centuro will be introduced in three variants, which will help the auto maker in catering a large section of buyers.
Coming to the technical features of the model, Centuro will come equipped with the same MCI-5 four stroke air cooled engine, which will have a displacement of 110 cc that powers the Pantero. This engine has the potential to churn out a maximum power of 8.5 bhp, along with a highest torque of around 8 Nm. Adding to the performance of this engine, it has been mated to a four-speed manual transmission system. Although the engine of Centuro is identical to Pantero, it has been slightly modified to enhance the fuel efficiency of the former.
With this brilliant output, the auto maker claims that Centuro will clock 100 kmph from initial within just 8.85 seconds. With this performance, this bike delivers a fuel efficiency of 85.4 kmpl. Owing to these figures, Mahindra Two Wheelers claims that the mileage of Centuro will be highest in its segment.
