Mahindra Scorpio - Factors that make it a cut above the rest

Approximately three weeks ago, Mahindra unleashed its much awaited Scorpio SUV in the Indian market. The refreshingly new Mahindra Scorpio SUV continues to be powered by 2.5 litre, four cylinder, m2DiCr, turbocharged common rail diesel engine and delivers impressive power output of about 75 bhp at 3200 Rpm and delivers a peak torque output of about 200 Nm between 1400 to 2200 RPM. Going by old records Mahindra's Scorpio has managed to sell about 50,000 units of Scorpio annually and the new face-lifted version is expected to surpass those sales number.

Speaking on new Mahindra Scorpio's dynamics, the SUV carries length of about 4,456 mm, width of about 1820mm and height of about 1995 mm. The cabin space is improved in comparison to its yesteryear siblings and the vehicle gets a fuel tank capacity of about 60 Liters. For a comfortable drive, the vehicle comes loaded with double wishbone type independent coil spring at the front and multi-link coil spring with anti-roll bar suspension at the rear. Drum brakes have been used at the rear whereas the front is blessed with ventilated disc brakes. Speak about features and the vehicle gets 6 inch touch screen infotainment system with Bluetooth, DVD, USB and AUX-in. Other features like GPS, rain and light sensors, automatic climate control, electrically adjustable wing mirrors and steering mounted audio controls along with cruise control are offered on the new Scorpio S10.

Safety factor has also been given due importance in the new Scorpio and it comes with latest safety equipments like ABS, tyre pressure monitoring system and rear parking sensors. The New Scorpio also gets dual airbags for front passenger and driver. The headlamp has received projector lights with integrated LED running lights.
